About the doctor
I am Dr. Panagiotis Tsogas, Dermatologist – Pharmacologist,
Founder and Director of Vitiligo Center in Greece since 1996.
My scientific qualifications in pharmacology and dermatology, my training at the world’s top vitiligo centers, and global recognition from the leading vitiligo research organization, VR Foundation, which lists me in 3rd place on its world map of researchers stating that ‘Dr. Panagiotis Tsogkas has dedicated his life to finding the cure for vitiligo’, allow me to provide all modern therapeutic approaches with complete safety.
In the first 90-minute visit, the patient receives responsible and scientific information on the diagnosis as well as concerns about vitiligo and begins the appropriate topical treatment with our innovative and personalized galenic formulations, with the aim of achieving a substantial improvement within the first two months.

Since the introduction of Vitiligo International Conferences: IPCC, Vitiligo International Symposium, Global Vitiligo Foundation, I have been the only Greek with a regular attendance, gaining a lot from the publications and the collaboration with internationally respected vitiligo experts like John Harris, Mauro Picardo, Alain Taieb and others.

Our machines whose purchases start from 1996 the first UVA (only this existed then) and the Waldmann UV 100 L cabin which we have been using for 17 years!
And it’s clearly not cutting-edge technology. We will receive innovative phototherapy technology soon, on the one hand because since 1996 we have been pioneers in know-how because we love our unique object vitiligo, and on the other hand to be able to be consistent in the study of a new galenic medicine for the treatment of vitiligo commissioned by a foreign pharmaceutical industry. We also use focused phototherapy with Excimer Light.
Finally, we have 200 devices, for home use NBUVB 311nm, of German and Chinese origin, Dermalight and Kernel NBUVB 311nm that have been available for many years at low cost (lamp change and maintenance, technician costs, etc.) throughout the duration of the treatment of our customers.
Treatment effectiveness in the first 2-3 months
The effectiveness of the treatment is amazing with our personalized formulations (based on the criteria of the area, time of illness, age, phototype, etc.). The improvement is from 30% to 70% in the first trimester WITHOUT PHOTOTHERAPY.

It is true that narrowband UV-B therapy (NB-UVB) constitutes one of the main treatment options for vitiligo. It is effective particularly for non-segmental vitiligo and has shown to be the safest and most effective treatment for this skin condition.
BUT WHEN?
Can it be administered to those with skin lesions in the first 2 months upon the onset of Vitiligo? Of course not!
It is deemed appropriate to clarify the issue of “phototherapy”, to identify its advantages and disadvantages, and to see whether it is indeed essential and proper to use it as the only weapon against vitiligo.
The recent Vitiligo Working Group (VWG) recommendation on the administration of phototherapy in vitiligo patients is to use phototherapy (NB-UVB) when:
extensive skin lesions are evident
rapid spread of the skin condition is evident
patients with less extensive skin lesions applied known topical treatments that were used correctly but were not effective.
The optimal frequency of NB-UVB phototherapy administration is 2 to 3 times a week and the skin phototype of each patient plays a significant role in the maximum amount of radiation exposure.
